A People of Grace

May 9, 2021 | by Pastor Peter

While Grace is one of the most celebrated ideas in Christianity, does it shape how we treat one another? We might imagine that God is gracious, but is the church, his people, a people of grace? Often we think of the church as a collection of people saved by God’s graciousness. At the same time, do we let God form us into a people shaped by his grace?

In the story of Saul’s conversion to Christianity, we see God’s immense patience with sinners. But we also see how Christians experience God’s grace in the community. Saul sees God’s love in Ananias. And Ananias sees God’s capacity to forgive in Saul. As they act as a community, they begin to see God more clearly. They are drawn into the life of being a people of grace.
