Jesus tells his followers that while God gives his grace liberally, he doesn’t do so casually. He has expectations. If we hear the words but don’t allow them to penetrate our hearts, or if our other commitments get in the way, his grace won’t have its full effect on our lives. But if we take the message to heart, it will change us in ways greater than we can imagine.
